For several years now, the Cinémathèque québécoise has been organizing an animation residency for young local filmmakers. For five weeks, six residents, each accompanied by a mentor, develop an animated film project by occupying the premises of the Cinémathèque. During this happy hour, you will have the chance to see the progress of the work of the 2023 cohort: Lukas Conway (Montréal), Stéphanie Destin (Martinique, France), Soline Fauconnier (Annecy, France), Antonin Niclass (Lausanne, Suisse), Angie and Tracey Richard (Moncton, Nouveau-Brunswick).
The Cinémathèque québécoise animation residency is organized in partnership with the Consulat général de France à Québec, the Département fédéral des affaires étrangères (DFAE), acting through the Consulate General of Switzerland in Montreal, Swiss Films, the National Film Board of Canada and patrons Jean-Philippe Fauteux and Marthe Cousineau.
