The Sommets du cinéma d'animation are pleased to unveil the official poster for their 23rd edition, created by Rachel Samson, an animation filmmaker whose credits include Parlons ergonomie, Temps de glace, Parc à chats and Soir de semaine. Her new film, Crème à glace, will be presented in official competition at this year's Sommets. She is also directing the festival's 2025 trailer, to be unveiled in April.

“Our theme this year is the night. Rachel's visual is very much in line with this direction, while adding a touch of phantasmagoria and magic that takes us back to the pre-cinematic inventions of the 19th century. I've known Rachel for years, I know she's a great cinephile, and her creation is perfectly suited to the Sommets’ spirit,” says festival artistic director Marco de Blois.
Rachel Samson is from Quebec City. A BFA graduate of Concordia University, she is interested in making traditional, digital and under-camera animated shorts as well as screenwriting, fanzines and just drawing in general.

2025 OFFICIAL SELECTION
The Sommets are also proud to unveil the films in their 2025 Official Selection. 75 short films have been selected for this 23rd edition, including 56 in competition and 19 in the Grand Angle section.

The 23rd Sommets du cinéma d'animation will take place from May 26 to 31, 2025. The complete program will be unveiled on May 7. The festival is produced by Cinémathèque québécoise.
