The film explores consumption not as moral failure, but as an existential condition: a human impulse to reach outward when the inner world feels empty. Rather than framing gluttony as greed or indulgence, it treats it as a desperate form of self-soothing—an attempt to quiet the unbearable silence beneath modern life.
