La Bande Vidéo plays an important role in the animation scene in Quebec, creating various programs that have benefited a significant number of renowned independent filmmakers: Nicolas Brault, Martine Chartrand, Francis Desharnais, Diane Obomsawin, Patrick Doyon, Lori Malépart-Traversy, Alexandre Roy, Claire Brognez and many others. Artists from abroad have also stayed here: Chen Xi, Chai Mi (China), Naomi van Niekerk (South Africa), Irina Rubina (Germany). 4 min 15 s au révélateur by Moïa Jobin-Paré and Toutes les poupées ne pleurent pas by Frédérick Tremblay enjoyed spectacular international success. In 2020, the acquisition of L'Alpine, a pin screen designed and built by Alexandre Noyer (France), gave birth to new films using this technique and helped to democratize it.
